Terms and Conditions

Each piece of Sheal Design Jewellery is created with love and the utmost care,  to last through many years with appropriate maintenance and care taken.

If by chance you happen to discover a flaw that you feel is related to design, please contact Sian as soon as possible and the matter will be taken from there.

It is incredibly important to ensure you look after your jewellery with the appropriate level of care for your individual piece.

Items that have been damaged as a result of not taking appropriate care will not fall under any warranty.

General wear is expected and almost unavoidable with any given piece of jewellery.

Certain types of finishes applied to jewellery(ie.oxidised or matte finish) are expected to change and or wear away with time.

These finishes are usually able to be reapplied giving them a similar look to when they were new.

Please feel free to contact Sheal Design if  you would like your piece restored to its original finish where possible.

You may be expected to pay a small fee for such treatment and cover postage costs associated with return.

Any sale items purchased that have been discounted due to any small defects are non-refundable. All defects will be disclosed at time of sale announcement and upon purchase you agree to accept item in its current condition as non-refundable.

To keep your jewellery in great condition we highly recommend to remove it before activities such as gym, outdoor work, cooking and household cleaning and prolonged exposure to chemicals and chlorinated pool water.

Specific Gem Care:

Opal:

Opal is a beautiful but soft stone and requires a good amount of care to ensure it stays intact and retains its original lustre.

Opal is approximately the same hardness as glass (around 6.5 on Moh’s hardness scale), so it is important to treat your opal carefully in order to avoid damaging it. Remove your opal jewellery if there is a chance it will be scratched or broken (i.e. working in the garden, moving furniture, etc.)

Opal maybe be cleaned with a soft toothbrush and soapy water.

Diamond, sapphire, Ruby, emerald.

These  gems are easy to care for at home. They can be cleaned with warm water and a splash of any type of dish detergent that has degreasing ability.

Avoid using anything that has moisturisers or abrasives, as they will leave a residue and scratch the metal surrounds.

Scrub gently with a soft toothbrush and rinse well. Dry with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, allow the piece to soak for 10 to 20 minutes, prior to scrubbing.

This process should only be used with gems set in gold or platinum as many detergents can react poorly with silver. You can also use any cleaner that is specifically designed for use with jewellery.

If you would like a professional clean please contact Sheal design. You may be required to pay a small fee plus postage if applicable.
